Rose will be fine

We got word today that Rose will be okay. (For those who don't know, Rose is my Ford Escape) She was having some trouble shifting into 2nd gear. Nothing major, just a little skip which freaked me out. Lloyd took Rose to the dealership that we bought her from. Turns out all she needs is to be reprogramed, air and fuel filters changed, and belts changed. They are going to reprogram her at the dealership and return her to us. We will get everything else changed out. There's no way we are going to let the dealership do those simple things - it would cost $400!! I can't wait to get my Rose back. Now don't get me wrong, I like the "loaner" car. But I miss my Rose.

WE GOTTA Wii

I never thought I would be so excited over something like this. Lloyd and I got a Wii!!! It's great. Seriously, all I want to do is play the games. I stomped Lloyd in bowling and I'm pretty good at the boxing. Turns out that the Wii is a great form of exercise. My arms are sore from all the playing we did last night. I'm really surprised that I'm enjoying this so much. Can't wait to get home to play some more.

A Little Stressed

I am a little stressed out right now. This could be a good thing - I realize how important my life is when I see things falling apart all around me. My car is acting up. I'm a little leary about this due to all the problems I had with my previous car Sophie. Lloyd is going to check it out today - hopefully all it needs is an oil change. Lloyd has been a little stressed. But I really think that Lloyd works better under pressure. I have faith that he'll be alright. Even my friend Ann is stressing out her little Betty. Seems like lots of people are getting stressed lately.

On a happier note, I got this Jergens tanning lotion. This stuff rocks. I wanted to try something other than a tanning bed to get tan this year. The lotion costs about $6.00 and is better for my skin than a tanning bed. I have only used it twice, but I am already getting tanned. Awesome. And thanks to my friend Kelly R. for suggesting it. Speaking of Kelly R., my girl hooked me up with some plants. I planted them last night and they look so beautiful. I took a picture. But I still haven't found the cable for my camera yet. I promise, I'll try my hardest to find the cable this weekend and get the pics of our camping trip and my beautiful plants. Thanks Kelly R.! And props to my other Kelly. Kelly B. and I had an awesome time last afternoon. We walked and talked. I love having a friend I could talk to and get some great advise from.

So I'm stressed but still blessed. Certain things may not be going my way, but other things are. Thank God for my family and friends. I couldn't get through my stressful time without them.

Weekend Review

Lloyd, Jack and I went camping this weekend. I had lots of fun and will go again under one condition: the weather needs to be warmer. I have never been so cold in my life. As many of you know, the weather was not in our favor on Friday. It had rained the night before and on Friday morning. We thought, "No big deal. We'll wait till the rain stops." We watched the news and hung around the house. The rain stopped and we left for our trip around lunch time. We hiked in for about 2 or 3 miles and set up camp around 2:00ish (I think). The hike going in was not hard but I had my problems. My pack was not adjusted correctly and my knee was hurting really bad. I also had what I called a near-death experience. I twisted my ankle and feel on my knees. No big deal, I fall all the time. When I tried to get up but I couldn't. My pack was to heavy I fell on my back and I couldn't get up. While on my back (feet and hands swinging in the air like a turtle) the strip at goes around your chest moved up around my neck and I could not breathe. Jack came running to my rescue and Lloyd was right behind him. My men saved me and I'm okay. When we finally got to our camp site we had a major problem. We could not get a fire started due to all the wood being wet from the rain that morning. This is something we didn't consider before. We finally got the fire started after the sun went down. Our tent and sleeping bags were awesome. I woke up very early on Sat morning having to go to the bathroom. But it was dark and very, very cold. I waited until Lloyd was up (3 hours later) before I went. It was so cold on Sat. morning - I wore like 4 layers of clothing trying to keep warm. We ate and packed up our camp and head out. The hike out was harder than the hike in. I thought we would never get home. But, we got home around 2:00 on Saturday. It was a fun trip. And I'm really surprised how great Jack did. Next time, I'll have to make sure my pack is adjusted correctly and the weather is warmer.

I have pictures of our trip to share with you. But I cannot put them yet. I have to find the cable that you hook up to the camera to upload the pictures onto the computer. I will look for it tonight and try to get the pictures up ASAP.

Getting Excited

I am so excited. Lloyd and I are going camping this weekend. Yea, we're going hard core with a tent, backpacks, and hiking boots. This will be the first time Lloyd and I have went camping together. I am so excited. But what I'm really excited about is that we are taking our lab (Jack) with us on our camping trip. I'll take the digital camera and take pics to document our first camping trip. I'll try to get the pictures up soon - I'll have to get Lloyd to help me with that.
I am also pumped about another thing. I am finally seeing results from all the walking and working out I have been doing lately. I'm seeing my body tone up (especially in my hips and thighs). This encourages me to continue working out. I am really excited.

My 1st Party

I had my 1st PartyLite Party last night. Everything went very well. We had plenty of food and entertainment. What was really weird was I felt like 3 worlds were colliding. My family, my hubby's family, and my friends were all together in one place. It was awesome to have all my friends and family in 1 room. We had such a great time!!

This Really Sinks

I am currently choking down some nasty Mott's No Sugar Added Applesauce. I'm not a big fan of this stuff - but I eat it anyway. To be honest, I don't like eating applesauce at all. Who knew that eating healthy would taste so bad?

On a happier note, my hubby changed his blog. It looks great!

The Unit and Jimmy

Lloyd and I began watching yet another tv show. We decided to watch this show on dvd due to the fact that we have so many shows we watch on a daily bases. We started watching The Unit. I was very surprised by this show. It has all the action that a man would love and all the drama between the men's wifes that us ladies can enjoy. Its a very good show - Lloyd and I are hooked.

I am currently reading a great book - "Jimmy" by Robert Whitlow. I love the books by Robert Whitlow. I have read "Life Support" and "Life Everlasting". I'm not much on reading books, but I can't put any of these books down.
